Yaks in America
Filmed in Colorado, Montana and Nebraska with footage from Tibet and Nepal, Yaks In America answers the question, "Why yaks?"
Originally from the Himalayan Mountains, yaks were first introduced to North America in the early 1900's. Yaks have become popular in the U.S. because they are easy to raise. They are very hardy, efficient feeders, and domesticated; and they have few birthing problems and thrive in varying climates. The documentary was shown at MountainFilm in Telluride in May of 2004 and it won an award at the Denver Video Festival.
"We are receiving rave reviews on the DVD. A typical comment: 'It was really wonderful, a top notch production and promotion of the breed and of IYAK. The pictures and the text on the DVD cover and on the DVD itself also look very professional.' Yaks In America provides valuable information on yaks in an interesting and exciting manner. IYAK is very appreciative of your efforts. Your combination of passion, professionalism and initiative exhibited through your filming and direction of the production was the key to the outstanding final production...the manufacturing process went very smoothly."
